Drawn directly from an original ceramic SRD (Supply Reserve Depot) flagon stamped 1944, this Royal British Navy rum has remained untouched for over 80 years. It has not been diluted, blended, filtered, or altered in any way since it was first filled. What you experience in the glass is exactly what was issued to naval personnel during the Second World War.

Originally blended in the Naval Victualling Yard of Deptford on the River Thames, this rum was crafted in the traditional navy style, a robust blend most probably dominated by rums from Barbados and Guyana, with possible contributions from Trinidad, Australia, or South Africa, all historically used in navy blends.

Before distribution, the rum matured partly in tropical climates at origin, developing depth and intensity under the influence of heat and humidity. It was then transported to England and rested in large open oak vats to mellow before being filled into clay flagons for global naval supply.

Originally issued at approximately 55.3% ABV (modern measurement equivalent), the rum remains remarkably well-presed. Its profile offers a rich, authentic aroma and a deep, complex bouquet that speaks directly of its era and origin.

Through careful decanting into 20 ml bottles, this release presents an exceptionally rare chance for rum enthusiasts and collectors alike:
to taste the original spirit of the Royal Navy, exactly as it was over eight decades ago.
